LOOKING FORWARD TO SPRING!

All this recent snow is certainly causing havoc at our house!  It is piled up on every roof over two feet deep.   Our first clue of a problem was having water dripping on the stairway to the basement…  Although our house roof is quite “elaborate”, it is obviously not conducive to allowing the snow to slide off.  Underneath the snow on the roof is a thick layer of ICE!  And of course, all the eaves trough is full of leaves so as not to allow any snow that melts to flow freely.  Time to bring out the extension ladders and get up there to alleviate the situation – makes the “old man” wish he was 20 years younger for sure!   There is a good two feet of snow on the flat part of the garden shed as well.  He went out and “cut off” the 3 foot overhang of snow and the rest is just sitting there now waiting to melt.  Now the snow is hanging down on the side of the garage as well.  It should be quite an avalanche when it lets go.  Hard to believe it is almost the end of March, and still more snow forecast…

Our daughter was driving home from work this past week after working a late shift.  She was quite upset to have had a close encounter on the highway.  There was no other traffic and she was driving along when she saw two men walking on the side of the highway.  As she went to drive past them, one of them walked out into the road in front of her and she barely missed him as she swerved!  It was like he was deliberately trying to stop her.  She was still shaking when she got home.  We are so thankful that she did not stop, but kept on driving home, as heaven knows what could have happened!   Don’t even want to think about it….

Oh joy, income tax time is here again…  Thankfully ours is not very complicated these years.  The person we usually have do our returns is no longer available.  I know things have changed quite a bit and I am not sure I am willing to tackle the job myself anymore.   Will have to find “Plan B”.

We had been seeing the advertisements for the Christian movie “I Can Only Imagine” and when we heard that it was being shown at the theatre in Prince Albert, we decided to go.  We haven’t been to a movie in our theatre since Titanic (it seems).  This was one of the most awesome movies I have ever seen.   I especially enjoyed the actor who was the centre of the movie!   His singing voice is most impressive.  Amy Grant was also in the movie.   I do believe I would love to see it again!
