Marjorie Bird

November 5th, 1920 - April 11th, 2017

With profound saddness the family of Marjorie Ruth Bird (nee Dubray) wish to announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Birchview Home in Birch Hills. Marjorie is survived by her sister: Nellie Baun; her children: Carole (George) Omelchenko, Brian (Nancy), Robert (Sharon Rolfes), Ruth Bird-Anderson, Marlene (Dale) Thorson and Bonnie (Tom) Mogus; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband: Chester; her beloved boys: Terence, Randolph and Garry; her precious granddaughter: Collette Omelchenko; son-in-law: Merv Anderson; her parents; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Marjorie was born on November 5, 1920, the youngest of 7 children born to Adolphus and Margaret Dubray. Widowed at the age of 43, she carried on to raise her children on her own, always making sure that they came first. Once her children were raised, she welcomed her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Many happy summer days were spent in the company of family at Anglin Lake. Cooking, baking, berry picking and nature walks with her young grandchildren and great-grandchildren were an important part of her life. Over the years, as a devout Christian woman, she welcomed many people into her heart and home who became her extended family. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m on Monday, April 17th, 2017 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Birch Hills, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Birchview Home or St. Mary’s Anglican Church. A life well lived…rest in peace. It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember. You will be missed.
