The Hitler Youth program was one of the many tentacles Fuhrer Hitler used to brainwash a generation of German people to the purposes of the Nazi agenda.  Hitler used propaganda to achieve his purposes in every facet of the German population. In a few short years, almost all young persons in Germany were in the Hitler Youth program.  There is one lesson that history screams out at us and that is: we do not learn!  When an evil agenda achieves its purpose, we recoil and say, “Never again.” But not even a generation passes and we forget the evil and allow it to happen again. I believe what we are witnessing in our country today is another season of brainwashing our youth and the consequences are going to be devastating.   When Jesus was on earth and offering a better way than the corrupted system of government people were experiencing, he stated that they could not see what was going on because they were spiritually blind.  He called the leaders in his generation blind leaders of the blind. Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch (Matthew 15:14). I am convinced we have the same scenario happening in the western world today.   

What I see happening today is that we are all going to fall in the ditch of destruction unless there is another great awakening to truth. If we do not have leaders and parents that will take a change of direction for the sake of their children and the future of our country, we are doomed.  We need to really want a better country for our grandchildren to grow up in and be willing to pay the price for that to happen.  It may cost us our life but freedom always comes with a price.  Freedom is not free; it is earned and every generation that enjoys freedom must pay the price to preserve it.    

The Boy Scouts were active and thriving in Germany in the 1930’s.  Then Hitler started his  youth program, robbing many principles of the traditional Scout program but totally discarding its philosophy and replacing it with Nazi philosophy.  The German population did not realize at first how this program would reshape and devastate Germany. There were hundreds of thousands of German kids involved in the Boy Scout program when it was banned in 1936 by Hitler. Hitler converted this wholesome youth program into a program that brainwashed an entire generation of youth into a Nazi ideology, then send them off to war.  In a sense, he brainwashed a generation of youth for self-destruction by making them believe in something and someone who was a liar and a deceiver.   It was a brutal process that devastated families throughout Germany. Parents became appalled at what was happening but seemed powerless to stop it. The German people had yielded the power of the German democracy to the Fuhrer and they would pay a horrible price for doing so.   I see Hitler as a model of the soon-to-come world leader who will come on the scene in the near future, who will promote a one world government, a one world religion, a one world economy under a one world leader. This will lead to seven years of hell on earth that the Bible foretells will come upon the world.  The Covid health agenda that affected the entire globe is part of the conditioning for what is coming.  It is interesting to note that our Lord told us that Satan is a liar and deceiver and anyone who leads in the satanic cause is also a liar and deceiver for power and control.  They murdered Jesus because he was a threat to their grip on power and control.  Jesus made this statement about the Satan and his program:  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).   For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.  This is a deceiver and an antichrist (2 John 1:7).

The Hitler Youth program was initiated in 1933 with about 50,000 members.  By the end of the year there were over 2 million members. The Hitler Youth program was designed to destroy the family.  The Nazi Third Reich knew they had to destroy the family unit because the family stood in the way of the Nazi agenda.  The Nazi youth program was a way to get the Nazi ideology into the family and thus caused destruction and division to the German family unit.  Hitler Youth were instructed to denounce their family when they behaved in ways not approved by the Reich. The youth adopted a religious devotion to the Fuhrer and to the Nazi cause. One young person who shared his testimony to the Boston Globe and Mail in 1980 said he could hardly wait to become a full-fledged Hitler Youth member. He relished marching, singing and attending youth rallies.  He said, “I belonged to Adolf Hitler, body and soul.” After the end of World War II, it took him years to step away from the indoctrination he had experienced.  

Some families in Germany refused to send their children to Hitler Youth.  Many of these families were Christian families who could see the evil of the Hitler agenda. They took a stand and protected their children from getting involved.  Some started other youth programs that were more like the traditional Boy Scout program but these were soon identified and punished.  Some parents were imprisoned. During the War, some youth were tried and hanged for defying the government program.   

Hitler had complete control of the media and made it illegal to listen to any other news or media sources.  It is interesting that our government is trying to pass Bill C-11, which has the underlying agenda to censor and silence all content the government says is unsuitable content. If we allow it to become law, Bill C-11 will be very similar to the censorship in Germany during Hitler’s reign. If speech is censored we lose another element of our freedom.  Without freedom of speech, we have no freedom.   

Germany lost its freedom and fell into the ditch of totalitarian slavery. They could not really believe it happened until it was too late to do anything about it.  There were a few voices crying out to stop Hitler but they were punished and silenced one by one.  Hitler had a police force called the Nazi Gestapo to silence and punish anyone who spoke against him, the Fuhrer.

Even the Gestapo police force ended up doing things they did not agree with but if they said anything they themselves were punished and silenced.  One pastor, Dietrich Bonheoffer, strongly opposed the Nazi agenda and philosophy of the Third Reich. He was persecuted relentlessly. He was granted exile to the United States at one period but, after spending a short time there, he returned.  He wrote during this time: “I will have no right to participate in the reconstruction of Christian life in Germany after the war if I do not share the trials of this time with my people.” The next year Bonheoffer wrote: “The Church was silent when it should have cried out because the blood of the innocent was crying aloud to heaven. She is guilty of the deaths of the weakest and most defenceless brothers of Jesus Christ.   

Will we hear the cry of Pastor Bonheoffer today?  Bonheoffer was executed by hanging in 1945, shortly before the end of the war, but his cause and his cry can reach us today if we will listen and act while we see our generation of youth being brainwashed into the path of destruction.
