Our son and grandson enjoyed a great fishing trip last weekend, although they did not bring any fish home, They were very happy with the amount of fish caught,– just caught and released, as some of their family have allergies and are especially allergic to FISH! Good old Dad said: Well you could have at least brought them home for US to eat!!! Now we have the BUG to go fishing – have boats and all the gear we require, but we are always too busy “doing nothing” to go fishing… It is now on our bucket list for this summer!!!
We are pretty pleased with how our garden is growing so far, considering we planted it fairly late, having changed our mind about bothering with a garden at all this year. Our grass is growing like crazy – just finish mowing and it needs to be mowed again… The raspberries are taking their own sweet time in maturing. I guess I should not be so impatient!
We can see the day quickly coming when we do not wish to deal with a garden and overgrown weeds and lawns. Who ever figured that this time would come this quickly???
Our first-born grandson, who is now 33 years old and lives in Vancouver, had been at Gray Creek when we were there earlier this month. It was quite a surprise to hear from him on the computer this week inquiring about our views on the political landscape for the upcoming elections and our opinion of the choices we have. And my dear husband, being very opinionated, gave him some of his views and told him to research the Canadian Taxpayers reports so that he could form his own opinions on the current government and then make his own choice – but voting is a must!
Although we have not had the pleasure of visiting with cousin Ken and his wife Jacqueline since they came back from Tennessee to look after their property in Saskatchewan, we did get the chance to have a telephone visit where they advised that they were going back to Tennessee shortly to finish some business there. Simply not enough time to do everything we would like to do.
We would also like to go to my brother’s in Langenburg so he can take us for a ride in his new boat which he purchased in Prince Albert, and then head for Brandon to visit our dear sister-in-law. Her daughter and son-in-law are in the process of moving from Brandon to Calgary and would like her to move there too, but she is very content to stay in her Senior Condo where she has many friends. Her son is still in Brandon as well, and visits her often. We try to get in as many visits with her as we can in a year. She is a very special lady!
Enjoy these summer days, everyone – it will be over in a blink of the eye…
