How awesome are today’s methods of communication! Our granddaughter was married in Barrie, Ontario this past weekend and for all intents and purposes we were able to enjoy the wedding ceremony without the benefit of being there in person! Mom and Dad (our son, Darren, and his wife Jeanie, and bridesmaid (our granddaughter Emily) flew to Barrie to participate in this special occasion, and we were thrilled to be able to watch the wedding in our own living room. Our folks would say IMPOSSIBLE, but with today’s technology, it certainly IS possible. Jeanie and Darren were happy to keep baby Xavier happy while his parents were doing their vows. We had sent their wedding gift with Darren and Jeanie and that was a bonus for us as well.
We went to Spiritwood _____ celebrations on the weekend. They had a fundraiser for the Library and all kinds of things going on. There was a pancake breakfast to benefit the Library and the “Cowboy Church” service afterwards. It had been intended to take place outdoors, but the weather was not very nice so they had it inside the LIBRARY instead. They also had a fairly large silent auction, as well as lots of books for sale by donation, and tables for vendors who had goods for sale. There was a fairly good attendance, with townspeople and visitors coming and going.
