STILL GLAD TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE GREEN GRASS

I thought it was time to keep in touch with people this week, so spent some time on the telephone.  Sister-in-law Rita has returned to Brandon after spending some time with her daughter and family in Calgary.  She said she had an enjoyable time, but it is always wonderful to get back home.  We are so happy that she enjoys living in her condo and having good friends who meet down in the Recreation room where they can play cards and enjoy companionship.  It’s like one great big family!

I also called my sister in Yorkton who has been in a Senior condo.  We were happy to hear she had found a new friend there – but the not so good news is that this new friend is shortly moving to live closer to her relatives in Alberta.  That was quite disappointing for her.  I guess that’s the way it goes…

News from Kelowna is that the weather is quite cool.  Mary is having a difficult time getting around.  Thank heaven for the neighbours who used her garden this year, as she is no longer able to drive.  They are only too happy to take her over to the Nursing Home to visit and then pick her up later in the day!   Her niece who lives a block away from her has been refacing her cupboards in her condo and has not had time to be at Aunt Mary’s beck and call.  We believe it will only be a matter of time before Mary will have to go into the Nursing Home as well (God Forbid!!)  It is amazing how SHE can get around with the arthritis in her hands and knees and basically throughout her body!  She is not exactly very happy with the lack of attention that George gets at the Nursing Home.  It is so sad that he has to lay there day after day month after month with no quality of life, but with a whole mind!

Enough of that sad situation…  Now we have to endure the next sad situation – the possibility of having a status quo in our government that puts our country into the worst shape it is ever been in (which it already is)!!   Another term of office for “Pretty Boy”….  It is our personal opinion that the debate on television was absolutely useless.  It proved nothing and was a waste of taxpayers’ money and time!

Husband has “battened down the hatches” and is ready for the snow to fly.   These “snow birds” would like to fly south too, but we are not sure if it will be happening.   We are envying our friends who have left already and those who will be leaving shortly.  Have a safe trip y’all!
