Our Journey Helping Those In Need Throughout North America
Yahoo – just got clearance from doctor that I should be good to go back to Texas! I did not even want to THINK of the possibility that we could not return for the first three months of 2015. We realize that when John turns 75 in two years, the insurance cost will be prohibitive and we were shooting for that time frame, barring unforeseen circumstances. So we will just proceed with our plans to return to Camp of the Hills and trust we will not encounter any further insurmountable difficulties in the near future.
We have been looking forward to going home for Christmas and seeing family and friends, but the challenge of “buttoning up” our RV and readying it to be moved certainly put us behind the intended schedule to get on the road. Mel had prepared a single new RV hookup across the yard from the 6 sites that were there previously beside the old laundry room. That building is now half torn down and will be totally gone by the time we return. When we arrived at Camp, our RV was set up in the single new site. When John installed the septic system, it was determined that the pad was too low to hook up properly. While we are gone, Mel will be bringing in more fill and increasing the level another 8 inches.
The last two months went so very quickly. Hard to believe it is time to go home for Christmas. Pretty well everyone else from Camp is gone for Thanksgiving, and although we have had several invitations for both Thanksgiving and Christmas here, we missed our family when we stayed for the holidays last year and decided it was worth the cost of driving home.
