Rosalia (Doering) Sommerfelt

January 12, 1923 – February 26, 2014

Rosalia Sommerfelt, late of Prince Albert, SK passed away on February 26, 2014 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 91 years. Rosalia was born in the RM of Rosthern on January 12, 1923. She married Otto Sommerfelt on March 15, 1942. They lived south of Shellbrook for eight months; they then purchased land west of the Penitentiary. They sold this land and bought some land South East of Paddockwood, SK in 1950. They delivered milk to Paddockwood until 1960; they then bought and operated a Café and Pool Hall until the summer of 1969. At that time they moved to Prince Albert, SK and operated an approved care home for 16 years before retiring. Rosalia will be lovingly remembered by her children: Rita (John) Chuey of Saskatoon, SK, Vern (Shirley) Sommerfelt of Weirdale, SK, Luella (Garry) Neurauter of Saskatoon, SK, Doris Scaife of Prince Albert, SK, Ken (Debbie) Sommerfelt of Winnipeg, MB and Mark Sommerfelt of Prince Albert, SK; her daughter-in-law: Norma Sommerfelt of Melfort, SK; her 16 grandchildren, her 20 great-grandchildren, her 4 sisters and her 1 brother. Rosalia was predeceased by her husband Otto, her son Lorne, her son-in-law Barry Scaife, her parents Alexander & Maria Doering, her 9 brothers and her 4 sisters. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Hemophilia Society, Edmonton, AB Chapter, PO Box 44171, Edmonton, AB T5V 1N6 (on behalf of great-grandson Jaxon Neurauter). The Funeral Service for Rosalia will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 – 1:30 pm, Messiah Lutheran Church 1796 – 15th Ave E, Prince Albert, SK.
