January 30, 1926 – May 8, 2014

Helen Baily, late of Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, passed away suddenly on May 8, 2014, at the age of 88. Helen was born January 30. 1926 at Birch Hills and raised on the family farm till age 14 after the passing of her mother. She lived with her sister, Thelma and her husband, Ted and then moved to PA to complete her schooling. After graduation, she attended teachers college in Saskatoon. Her teaching career led her to Leask and Paddockwood. In 1947, she married Lorne Baily and returned to her family homestead in Lake Park to begin their life on the farm together. They were blessed with 5 children- Bob, Larry, Marlene, Valerie, and Greg. Helen was very active in her church, working on the farm, loving and enjoying her time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Lorne: Sons - Bob (Diane), their daughters, Darlana and Deni (Ron), Greg (Leanne), their daughters, Justine (Cyle) and Sarah (Keith); Daughters – Marlene (Gord), their children, Gerry (Wendy), Phil (Joanna), and Dixie (Dave) and Val, son Joshu; Daughter-in-law- Teresa (Gil) Reynolds, son- Dane; Great-grandchildren- Hanson, Reider, Lucy, Izzy, Bennet, Sadie, Ruby, Wyatt, Thia, Evelyn, Brett, Hailey, and Avery. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents- Christian and Tabita (Gjesdal) Salen; brother, Reider and his wife, Margaret; sisters, Thelma and her husband, Ted, Cora and her husband Barney, Lillie and her husband, Ole, and son, Larry. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Lake Park Baptist Church, Birch Hills, SK with Pastor Matthew Teigrob officiating. Interment will be held at Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Weldon Country Villa, Weldon, Saskatchewan, S0J 3A0.
