October 5, 1932 ~ April 4, 2021
It is with deep sadness the family of Prosper Corfmat, beloved husband to Simone, announce his passing, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK on April 4, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Prosper Eugene Corfmat was born on October 5, 1932 to Prosper and Marie Corfmat in Moustoir - AC (Morbihan), France. Prosper served in the French Army in his younger years and immigrated to Canada receiving his Canadian citizenship in 1979.
Prosper started his Canadian journey in Quebec and caught the eye of a beautiful young lady meeting the love of his life, Simone Boucher, in Riviere du Loupe and they married on April 6, 1968. Proper began a career in 1968 with Woodland Enterprises, a division of Weyerhaeuser, bringing him and Simone to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where he worked until his retirement. Settling in Prince Albert, Simone and Prosper were happy to raise their two children Stephen and Nancy. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Life kept Prosper busy you never saw him miss driving either Stephen or Nancy to their sporting events and cheering them on. As the kids aged the next generation came and Papa attended Mitchell, Eric, and Marks’ hockey games. But one thing was always sure wherever Prosper was his Simone was by his side caring for him right till the end.
Prosper is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Simone; children: Stephen (Rona Pelletier) Corfmat, Nancy (Dwayne) Middlebrook; grandchildren: Mitchell, Eric, Mark, Brittany, Easton, and Gabby; great grandchildren Ava and Aurora; as well as numerous siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Prosper is predeceased by his parents Prosper and Marie Corfmat, siblings, and other relatives.
Due to Covid the family has decided to have a Celebration Of Prosper’s Life at a later date.
