It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather on May 28, 2021 in Prince Albert, SK. Alfred was 101 years old and passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was born to Octave and Mary Parent on September 3, 1919 in Hoey, SK. He served in World War II from 1941-1945. He married Cecile Jobin on August 15, 1946 and they moved to the family farm. Together they welcomed and raised nine children. Dad was a man of faith, worked hard to provide for his family and believed in doing what was right. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and going to see new places. Fred is survived by his nine children: Rupert (Joan) Parent, Simone (Raymond) Gorieu, Paulette Clapper (Perry Gursky), Louise (Stanley) Hodgson, Raymond (Bev) Parent, Albert (Judy) Parent, Doris (Lyndon) Beeds, Hubert (Janet) Parent, Ellayn (Guy) Gaudet; his 26 grandchildren: Bradley (Trisha) Parent; Kelly Parent (Brittany), Paul (Marnie) Gorieu, Marceh (Richard) Materi, Gilles Gorieu, Jason Clapper, Justin (Rebecca) Clapper, Derek (Melissa) Clapper, Dorianne (Jason) Clapper, Jeff (Jennie) Hodgson, Tammy (Jason) Gillis, Tracy (Curtis) Henderson, Hayley (Todd) Merrell, Christopher (Destiny) Parent, Marc (Dimitra) Parent, Amanda (Phil) Hounjet, Crystal (Lee) Harris, Kimberly (Mau) Parent, Brody (Jodi) Parent, Brandie Beeds, Adem Beeds, Ambure (Cole) Parent, Aimey Parent, Ashleigh Gaudet, Alaisha Gaudet, Alisen Gaudet; 42 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law Suzanne Jobin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Alfred was predeceased by his wife of 71 years Cecile (neé Jobin); his parents Octave Parent and Mary Suprenault; 10 siblings: Leon (Marie) Parent, Rose (John) Studer, Claire (Leo) Zurowski, Isabelle (Albert) Boscher, Edward (Evelyn) Parent, Blanche (Marcel) LeFrancois, Bertha (Robert) LeFrancois, Germaine (Veikko) Koivisto, Gilbert (Rita) Parent, Ida (Vern) Studer; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Willie (Francoise) Jobin, Alexandrine (Edmond) Gareau, Joseph L. (Jeanette) Jobin, Marguerite (Albert) Trottier, Alphonse (Noella) Jobin, Albina Jobin, Bernadette Jobin & Jeremie Trottier, Albert (Fleurette) Jobin, Marie-Anne (Joseph) Doderai, Emile Jobin, Marie (Armand) Cochet, Ernest Jobin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021at 2:00 p.m. Both Services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Rev. Father Roque Conception celebrating both services and Rev. Father DJ Vu co-celebrating. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Services will be live streamed and videotaped.
